Hello,
Using this example, please access Fields and try to drag Date field over to Values panel. Notice that it won't let you. Drag it to Rows or Filters instead. Then reopen Fields and notice that it's now possible to drag Date to Values. Please clarify why the intermediate action is required.

Thank you for reporting this drag-n-drop behavior of multilevel hierarchies.
Please note that multilevel hierarchies are not designed to be dragged into measures, as they contain more than one underlying field. We will fix the reported inconsistency in our minor release with ETA February 2nd.
After the fix, we recommend setting the 'date string' datatype for date fields that should be used as measures.
