Hello dear flexmonster team,
we use flexmonster to display performance indicators about the sales of different products of one of our clients.
Our client configured the analysis so that he currently only inspects data for weeks 12, 13 and 14 of 2023. This leads to a huge blank space in the measure-area of those articles that weren't sold in this timespan. (please refer to the attached screenshot)
Is it possible to prevent/hide this blank space given that the chosen timespan isn't changed?
Kind regards,
Florian
Hello, Florian!
Thank you for reaching out to us.
Kindly note that Flexmonster usually hides the rows with all empty values by default.
We have prepared an example using custom Data Source API to illustrate the idea: https://jsfiddle.net/flexmonster/jodxzrt9/.
There are two Color members in the data source, but in the expanded rows, we can see only one because the second is empty and thus unnecessary to show.
Could you please provide us with sample data on which the behavior you have described is reproducible or modify our example to reproduce it? It would greatly help us in further investigating the case.
Looking forward to hearing from you.
Regards,
Solomiia
Hi Solomiia,
thank you for your quick reply!
While trying to create some sample data I noticed that this behaviour only seems to appear when only self-defined measures are displayed. As soon as I add an aggregated value (i.e. sum of amount) and reload the window the blank rows disappear.
Maybe this can give you a hint while I try to construct the sample.
Please disregard my last message as I was not able to reproduce that behaviour.
With this I attached a small data subset (in csv format) and the JSON description of the flexmonstersettings.
Please note that I already applied the flexmonster filters directly to the dataset beforehand and reduced the amount of available columns to only include relevant data and only columns required to recreate some of the measures seen in the JSON file.
Hello Florian,
Thank you for providing us with the dataset and the report.
If you use the custom data source API and turn off the Grand Totals but still send the Grand Totals values in the response, Flexmonster will show those empty rows. That is why we recommend checking if Flexmonster receives the Grand Totals values in the response from the server. If yes, you can send the data without the Grand Totals to hide the blank space.
Please let us know if it works for you. Looking forward to hearing from you.
Kind regards,
Nadia
Hello Florian,
Hope you are doing well.
Just checking in to ask if you had a chance to check the suggested approach. Please let us know if it works for you.
Looking forward to hearing from you.
Kind regards,
Nadia
Hello Nadia!
Thank you for your responses - I handed your suggestions and replies over to our development team and am currently waiting on their assessment (which could take some time given their current workload...).
So I guess this question can be closed - if we need further support from you after our developers tried your suggestions, I will open a new ticket.
Thank you and kind regards,
Florian
