When showHeaders=false, the grid does not expand by clicking the expand/collapse icons. Am using the grid type =Compact
When i right click on the value and click Expand, the row expands.
Also, by clicking on the text, am able to expand the row
Just clicking on the icon, it does not expand; and since a lot of people click on the icon to expand, i'd like to know if there is a fix for this?

It was fixed in version 2.403 that was released on the 11th of September. Here you can find more details on this build http://www.flexmonster.com/release-notes/version-2-403/. Please use the version of the component that was provided to you after the purchase - it is the latest one.
