Strategies for defining client minimal technical requirements

Hello folks,

Recently we have faced some browser crashes when loading large amounts of data, so we must define the proper machine that our customers should use so they don’t face any problems.

Is there a guide or best practices manual that could help the task of defining minimal hardware requirements for the client desktops that will use flexmonster?

Being more specific, I am refering to disk (if applies), processor, RAM, etc…

Thanks in advance,

Hello Andre,
Thank you for writing. It is difficult to give some specific characteristics of the client's machine since each case is different and everything depends on the data amount and data structure. However, we would like to draw your attention to the processor's CPU and the amount of RAM on the client's machine. Increasing processor's CPU boosts application performance since it allows analyzing data faster. Also increasing machine's RAM amount allows handling larger amounts of data. In order to define more specific characteristics, you will need to run all the necessary tests on your environment. After simulating all the use cases it will be much easier to define the minimum parameters for the client's machine. Also, referring to your previous messages about 500 000 rows we recommend starting from 8 GB RAM on client's machine and then changing it according to the test results.
Please let us know in case of any other question.
Regards,
Dmytro
