I have a pivot table which contain a dimension date. When I am trying to export the pivot table using flex monster without specifying the type, its converted as text in the excel.
The reason I am not providing type as dateTime is that this dimension can be grouped to a higher level i.e year and in that case the value will be just year i.e '2004'.
In our application we are doing excel export without using flexmonster as html table and when I don't specify a type the excel itself convert it to date by default.

Thank you for writing to us.
Please note that the date-type field (consisting of 3 sub-hierarchies) being converted to a string is expected when exporting to Excel.
During export, the component returns the data that is visible on the grid, and since only one sub-hierarchy of the date-type field can be displayed in the grid at once, the full date does not end up in the exported sheet.
