We are seeing an issue with the gear icons that are displayed in the column headers, overlapping the text in the column header cell. Please see attached. Can you provide guidance on how best to correct this?

We did not manage to reproduce this behavior on the latest version of the component: https://jsfiddle.net/flexmonster/roj4u16v/.
Make sure you do not overwrite default cells' styles with custom CSS rules.
