Multiline values in cells

Hello there,
is flexmonster still does not support multiline value in cells out of box. We need to have more than one value in the cell. Any idea? Thanks.

Hello, Sergii,

Thank you for reaching out to us.

Currently, we do not support and do not recommend using multiline in Flexmonster.
If critical, it is not hard to implement multiline for classic and compact forms using a couple of CSS rules: https://jsfiddle.net/flexmonster/Ljqu60gx/.
Multiline for the flat form is strongly not recommended.
Could you please provide us with more details on your use case:

  • Which data source do you use?
  • Are those values you want to display additionally in your cell from the data set?

It would help us to find you a suitable solution.

Looking forward to hearing from you.

Kind regards,
Nadia

Hello Nadia,
we are using a JSON data source and the values we want to show in the multiline are passed as a string with some delimiter as an option. For now, this is a long string of values separated with '; '. It's not bad, but multiline would be much better. Nevertheless, we use flat mode often enough, so we don't want to get rid of it.
Thanks.

Hello, Sergii,

Thank you for the provided details.

It is possible to make multiline cells with the described values. You are welcome to check the following JSFiddle for reference: https://jsfiddle.net/flexmonster/w4uz7ktx/
Please note that currently, Flexmonster does not support auto adjustable height based on cell data. Therefore, if you want to use multiline, we recommend defining cell sizes to display all values properly.

Please let us know if it works for you. Looking forward to your response.

Kind regards,
Nadia

Hello Nadia,

yes, we've looked at your solution, but unfortunately, we can not have fixed height of row, due to dynamic amount of values, so, for now, we stay with single line long value.

Thanks for your quick response.

Hello, Sergii,

Thank you for your response.

Yes, it is clear that it would be better to use a single line if you have dynamic values. Our team will notify you in case of any future updates on the matter.

Feel free to contact us if other questions arise.

Kind regards,
Nadia
