Error on reserved words

Answered
Florian asked on November 28, 2022

When trying to apply a filter a customer received the following error message: "There has been found one or more reserved words in the given string: [1 -- 1.1 SD - Braun] in [1 -- 1.1 SD - Braun]"
Am I right in the assumption that "--" may be problematic as it sometimes is used as a way to comment code?

If that is the case, can you think of a solution that does not require changing the string?
If the "--" is not causing the issue - what else is?

With kind regards,
Florian

ps. when sending this ticket I noticed that the font changes my string. The long dash is actually two normal dashes.

I added a Screenshot depicting the error we received from our customer.

Hello, Florian,

Thank you for contacting us.

We could not reproduce the described behavior on our side. Could you please provide us with more details:

  1. Which Flexmonster version do you use? It can be checked by clicking on the grid and pressing Ctrl + Alt + i (Option + Control + i on macOS).
We recommend updating to the latest version. Feel free to check our guide for reference: https://www.flexmonster.com/doc/updating-to-the-latest-version/
  2. We would be grateful if you provided us with the report or a sample project where this issue is reproducible.
  3. Does the issue appear when the user sets a filter through the UI or programmatically through the report configuration?

Looking forward to hearing from you.

Kind regards,
Nadia
