Can you explain me the disadvantages of connecting directly to a SQL database instead of connecting to a cube? Is it slower or presents less functionalities?

Hi!
From time to time our customers ask if there any plans to allow the direct connection to databases. No, we won't implement this feature and the reason is very simple - security. Please keep in mind that our component is a client-side solution and when you are trying to connect database you must provide login/password. This means that you have to store your login/password in the browser then send it to the database in the very insecure way. Honestly saying you have to open access to your database literally for everyone.
