Default column width doesn't fit contents

Answered
Ron Crishan asked on April 2, 2017

In the previous version the default column width fit the content in one line.
In the new version long contents wraps to new line.
If not showing column numbers, can change the column width so can't fix this.
Please fix it so it fits the contents, like before.

Hello Ron,
Thank you for your question. Since this issue is not very critical the fix will be included in the brand new grid rendering release which is planned for the nex major release. If you want to have a higher priority for such type of issues, please have a look at our additional support options - http://www.flexmonster.com/support-options/.
Please let us know if you have other questions here.
Best regards,

Hi,
This bug is related to http://www.flexmonster.com/question/when-showheaders-is-off-the-label-of-grid-header-overlapped-each-other/ which we also reported.
Currently we can't show row numbers, and therefore can't change column width.
This needs a solution in the short term.
Please let me know what can be done.

Dmytro - we don't show the column numbers so we can't resize them, because if we allow to hide them we get this bug: http://www.flexmonster.com/question/when-showheaders-is-off-the-label-of-grid-header-overlapped-each-other/.
Currently it's hidden and won't be shown until that bug is fixed.

We need a solution for either of these issues ASAP, this is a regression.

Hello Ron,
Thank you for writing. This issue has rather low priority right now. It will be available as a part of the next major release. Please note, that the columns are always resizable, even without column numbers.
Regards,
Tanya
