Introduction to Flexmonster Accelerator

Flexmonster Accelerator for Microsoft Analysis Services is a server-side proxy that speeds up the loading of data from an OLAP cube to Flexmonster Pivot.

Flexmonster Accelerator works with:

• Microsoft Analysis Services multidimensional cubes.
• Microsoft Analysis Services tabular models.
• Azure Analysis Services tabular models.

Why use the Accelerator

We created Flexmonster Accelerator as an alternative to XMLA, a standard protocol for communication between a client application and an OLAP cube. XMLA can be heavy and include excessive information, which requires a lot of time and memory to load and process the data.

When the Accelerator is used, it sends requests with minimal required information directly to the OLAP cube. As a result:

• Large multidimensional data is transferred from SSAS to Flexmonster Pivot faster.
• The browser's resources are used more efficiently.
