Hi,
Receiving this message on a classic form layout "Too many columns for classic form. Switched layout to compact form". More than 10 columns are there in view. please check the image for reference.
What are the column limitations in the classic view? how many columns view that we can see in the classic form?
Thanks & Regards,

Hi!

Yes, the number of frozen columns is limited by design. This alert appears when the scrolling area becomes too narrow for smooth scrolling. In this case, we always recommend to switch the component to compact view. The compact view will provide better user experience in this situation.

Hi Dmytro,
why don’t you add a horizontal scrollbar (and unfreeze panes) to handle this situation? Do you mind to consider this in your roadmap  the ability to handle more number of columns?
please let me know if you have any suggestions/concerns.

Hello Team,
I read many questions/answers related this topic. But still our clients expecting a solution in this situation instead of changing layout.
If you add this in your roadmap and provide a solution will be good for many clients.
Thanks.

Hi Ravi,

Thank you for posting your question.

We understand that in some situations it might be more convenient to have the ability to scroll the frozen area in classic view.

However, due to the particular technical specificities of the component, it would be problematic to implement something similar in the nearest future. Nevertheless, we have this feature in our backlog and our team will review it once the circumstances allow it.

In the meantime, please consider taking the following steps to avoid automatic switching to the compact form:

  1. Increase the size of the HTML container for the pivot table component.
  2. Resize some columns on the frozen area to leave more space for the scrollable area.
  3. Try using Flexmonster in fullscreen mode so that there is more place for the columns to be drawn.

Please let us know if there is anything else we can help you with.

Regards,
Mykhailo
