Hello,
We had the following observation that we were not sure of. When we have dates configured in the report and the layout is that of a Flat Table, we noticed that in the /select call, there is request for the count of the dates. However, if the layout is that of a Compact View, then the /select call does not contain a request for the count of the dates. Is this the expected behavior? If so, what is the purpose of requesting the count of the dates when the layout is a Flat Table, but not when it is a Compact View? We've prepared a jsFiddle and some screenshots for convenience.

Thank you for reporting this observation.
On the screenshot dedicated to the compact form, the date type field is placed in rows. The aggregation is only needed for fields set to measures. This behavior is expected.
Still, the count aggregation for the date field on the flat form seems to be redundant.
Our team will research this question and get back with results ETA May 03.
