How to filter with dependency on other filters?

Answered
Moshe Malin asked on November 11, 2020

Hello, I`m running a trial on FM, and got 2-3 questions.
The need in essence: mainly flat reports. user can run multiple filters, export, etc. maybe some aggregations. it`s based on mySQL, and for now I`m using the out-of-the-box data server.
Here is the first question:
Can FM be configured in a way that if user filters column A, when they go to filter column B, they will get only the results of the rows that match the previous (column A) filter?
The tool is really great. am playing with it. will probably have some more questions.
Thanks for now 🙂

Hello,

Thank you for reaching out to us.

We want to explain that Flexmonster does not support this feature. In your example, Flexmonster will display all members of the field "B" despite filter applied to the field "A".
This is a known usability issue, and it is placed in our backlog. However, our road map is full at the moment; therefore, we are not ready to provide you with an exact ETA for this feature.

Concerning the second question about counting the number of results, which you have mentioned in the email:
Our team wants to ask you for additional details about the required functionality. Please let us know what specific results need to be counted and how Flexmonster should represent it.

Our team is looking forward to hearing from you.

Best regards,

Illia
