Nested dimensions / Compatibility with hierarchy

Answered

Hello,
I have several questions from my usage of the grid component with a JSON data source :

  1. Is it possible to define nested "dimensions", so that fields can be grouped in "folders" and "subfolders" ?
  2. Fields with exact same captions but in different dimensions are not differentiated when selected as lines/columns. Any way to have the dimension specified as "Dimension / Field" without modifying the field caption? (similarly to hierarchy being a prefix when a field is selected? i.e. "Hierarchy / Field")
  3. Is it possible to combine dimension and hierarchy? i.e. Having fields defined as hierarchy and grouped inside a dimension with other fields? I tried to configure such report, to no avail: http://jsfiddle.net/7e1Lvcf4/

Thanks for your answers.

Best regards,

Hello Seyha, Thank you for your question. Please find our answers below:

  1. Currently, Flexmonster allows creating only one level folders. The fields should be grouped under one dimensionUniqueName. Please find the example here: http://jsfiddle.net/flexmonster/7e1Lvcf4/12/.
  2. For now, such behavior is only supported for the hierarchies and not supported for the dimensions. However, your suggestion sounds reasonable and we can consider adding this feature in the future.
  3. Currently, such an approach is not available in the Flexmonster component. At the same time, we can possibly implement this feature in some future minor releases.

Also, could you please provide us with the details of how critical these features are for your Flexmonster integration process?
Regards,
Dmytro
